Executive Assistant

The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit seeks an experienced Executive Assistant to provide top-notch administrative and clerical support to the Executive Office in a fast paced non-profit environment.   

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Exercise good common sense, judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive material.
• Organize and support the demanding workload of the Chief Officer of Strategic Partnerships, Chief Financial Officer and the Planning Director.
• Capable of professionally handling a high volume of donors and important contacts in a calm and relaxed manner.
• Schedule meetings, appointments, arrange catering, book rooms, and arrange conference calls.
• Answer incoming calls for Executive Suite professionals, screen and route calls and emails as required.
• Prepare general correspondence and electronic correspondence.
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service in a responsive and timely way.
• Research, compose and complete a professional document utilizing proper grammar, spelling and format skills.
• Prepare meetings, format presentations for Board and other Committee meetings.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Confidentiality a must.
• Self-starter, self-disciplined, highly organized team player.
• Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint and able to create tables, perform mail merges, create labels, envelopes and “tent cards”.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with proficiency in grammar.
• Must possess a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
• Must be focused with attention to detail and have a strong sense of urgency.
• Ability to multitask by prioritizing work and organizing own time.
• Possess extensive knowledge and experience with the administrative aspects of running an office including organizing, creating and maintaining files in both electronic and hard copy form.
